HISTORY & MISSION
My wife and I are originally from southern California. I completed general surgery training at Harbor-UCLA and a Vascular and Minimally Invasive Vein Fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin, my medical school alma mater. After completing my training we relocated to Eugene, Oregon and have lived here ever since. I have been in practice for over 10 years. I am blessed with a wonderful marriage to Minette who is also a part-time nurse at Mckenzie-Willamette Medical Center. We are the fortunate parents of two boys; MJ and Julian.
My expertise involves the medical and surgical management of vascular and venous disorders including carotid disease and stroke, peripheral arterial disease, limb salvage, aneurysms, varicose veins, ilio-femoral DVT, lymphedema and vascular medicine. I have a passion for what I do and thoroughly enjoying meeting and helping people who are struggling with varicose veins. My professional goal is to be honest, unbiased, informative and supportive towards my patients and to do so with the utmost integrity. Those who know me professionally and personally know that I have high standards but expect nothing less of myself or for my patients.
ABOUT OREGON VEIN CENTER

Originally founded by Drs. Robert DuPriest and Swangard who were early adopters of endovenous ablation, microphlebectomy and ultrasound guided foam sclerotherapy. I was fortunate to train along side them and learn from their expertise which complemented the training I received at the Medical College of Wisconsin Vein Clinic. We have continued to be, what I believe to be, a center of excellence in Lane County and surrounding counties. I set high standards for my self and staff. As a result, most patients are self referred usually through word of mouth.

I encourage anyone who is contemplating varicose vein treatment to seek a second opinion before deciding whether to proceed if they have reservations. Many patients may not know that doctors with different training perform some varicose vein treatments but vascular surgeons are the only specialist uniquely qualified to provided the entire spectrum of varicose vein and venous treatment. When being evaluated for any vein problem, I would recommend you ask the following questions:

1. What is their formal training?
2. What varicose veins procedures do they perform, which don't they perform such as high ligation?
3. How long have they been practicing and what percentage of their practice is dedicated to the treatment of venous disorders?
4. What types of complications have they had and do they manage them themselves or do they refer you elsewhere?
5. Are procedures done primarily at the office or hospital and what type of anesthesia is used.
